Milehouse Cottage

Location: One mile from village of Kincraig on the road to Insh. OS map 35, Kingussie. GR NH839043.

Access: By public road with parking at rear of building.

Accommodation: Milehouse has two rooms, one with alpine-style sleeping platforms with mattresses for 12 people.  The other is a member’s room with bunk-beds for 5 people, which from 1st November until 31st March is reserved for members only.  Outside of those 5 months all 17 bed spaces (12 + 5) may be booked. Please bring your own sleeping bag, pillow, pillow case, towel and tea towels. There is a fully equipped kitchen and an open plan dining/sitting room.

Facilities: Electric lighting and heating (£1 coin meter); solid fuel stove; gas oven (not electric) including oven, grill and hob, as well as a separate gas hob; microwave; fridge; hot and cold running water at sinks and washbasins; two shower rooms with electric showers; drying room; two WCs; storage shed for skis or about 4 bikes.

Electric vehicle charging: charging electric vehicles and e-bikes, and hooking up vans, is not permitted. There are several different types of charging point nearby, including Kinguisse and Aviemore - for further information look up a site such as Zapmap.

Fees (from December 2022): £15.00 per person per night for guests. £12.00 for members of clubs with reciprocal rights. £6.00 for LSCC members. A booking deposit is required. Please contact the Milehouse Bookings & Finance Secretary Elspeth Christie.

Availability:  Hut bookings are shown on the calendar below. Please note that dates marked as booked refer to the nights for which the cottage has a confirmed booking. The calendar will also tell you if there are still beds available - click on the specific booking for details.
